Groundbreaking EHR Now Live in 23 Counties
Key staff: John Fitzgerald, Chief Informatics Officer
On July 1, 23 counties in partnership with CalMHSA began using the first-of-its-kind electronic health record system designed specifically for county behavioral health. The July 1 go-live date was chosen to coincide with the timing of CalAIM implementation, which is integrated into the new system.
Counties now using the new EHR include Colusa, Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Lake, Marin, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Siskiyou, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Tulare and Ventura.
As these counties turn to using the system and building it into their own workflows, CalMHSA will continue to expand the EHR’s functionality and refine its processes in close collaboration with county staff.
Office hours will continue for specific users – clinical, billing, prescribers and reporting – and an EHR knowledge base website is now up and running, with documentation guides, links to a live chat, workflows, training videos, at-a-glance user guides and much more.
