Translated Beneficiary Handbooks Available Soon
Key staff: Courtney Vallejo, LMF T, Director of Managed Care Operations
CalMHSA is currently collaborating with its translation partner on revised translations of the Department of Health Care Services Beneficiary Handbooks, as outlined in Behavioral Health Information Notice 23-048. Recognizing that counties may need to further revise the handbooks for their specific needs, CalMHSA is aiming to have the updates posted by early to mid-December.
To date, eight of the 12 translations — which will include Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese (both traditional and simplified), Farsi, Hmong, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese — have been completed. All updates will be readily identifiable with a notation of either November or December 2023.
Updated translation will not be provided for the Hindi, Japanese, Laotian, Mien, Punjabi, Thai and Ukrainian handbooks.
Subsequent updates of the translated handbooks will be available to counties for a fee; additional details will follow. Questions about the handbooks and translations can be directed to [email protected].
