Peer Support Specialist Certification Exam Now Available in 6 New Languages

CalMHSA is thrilled to announce another milestone in our ongoing commitment to an increasingly diverse community of certified professionals at county Behavioral Health Plans: the release of the Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist exam in six additional languages: Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Vietnamese.
In addition, the exam will soon be offered in Arabic and Farsi, as well. Earlier this year, the exam was made available in Spanish.
“Extending the exam in multiple languages helps us broaden the certification process to include more peers and assist more Californians on a path to hope and recovery,” said Director of Quality Assurance Lucero Robles.
To facilitate a seamless experience for eligible candidates opting for the exam in any of the available languages, candidates will simply select that language on the screen at the time of scheduling the exam.
Since the certification exam was launched in 2022, the program has certified more than 3,600 Peers across the state.
