Helping Build a Foundation for Behavioral Health Transformation
Amie Miller, PsyD., Executive Director
The enactment of Prop. 1 by voters earlier this year signaled many ambiguities for county behavioral health in California, but we all understood there would be new demands on your teams, on funding sources, and on how you continue to provide the care your communities need.
To help address those demands, CalMHSA has contracted with DHCS on a set of statewide deliverables that will be foundational for implementing many of the new Prop. 1 requirements.

In addition to these major efforts, we’ll be working with the state and counties to develop a series of trainings on becoming a Medi-Cal contractor.
We have begun our work in earnest and will continue it as one of our top priorities into next year. While much of this is – once again – uncharted territory for public behavioral health in California, I have faith that together we can ensure your critical expertise and experience are woven into the fabric of statewide behavioral health transformation.
