Quality Measures/HEDIS
Healthcare Effectiveness and Data Information Set
Recognizing that counties may need assistance responding to new state-level requirements for certain quality measures, CalMHSA began an initiative to calculate those measures on counties’ behalf — preserving their time and resources to dedicate toward providing care.
The Department of Health Care Services’ Comprehensive Quality Strategy now requires county Mental Health Plans and Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery Systems to calculate Healthcare Effectiveness and Data Information Set (HEDIS) measures annually as a standardized way of quantifying performance across set domains.
Counties that choose to outsource this highly technical work look to CalMHSA for:
- Interpreting and applying a complex set of measure specifications
- Acquiring multiple large data sets
- Calculating the required performance rates
- Measure validation support
